Tulip wreath for spring from a Safe Deposit Box
I’m always ready for the fresh feeling Spring brings! On a trip to Round Top Antiques Week my girlfriends and I found this cool pile of old safe deposit boxes. I immediately knew in my mind I would make some sort of wall hanging or wreath out of it. White tulips were the perfect choice to make a precious DIY wreath for spring! I’ve included a supply list for your convenience. This post conatins affiliate links, should you make a purchase, I may receive a small commission. Your price stays the same!
I always say look at things for what they could be, not what they are. It’s best to approach people the same way, God certainly does. Next time you clean out a closet, go thrifting or come across something interesting a t garage sale think about how to turn it around, upside down and bend it into something more than it’s original purpose. You will always get a smile when you see something or someone regain life in a new way. I started with this simple safe deposit box, it was already a great minty green color, perfect for spring.
Next I used some of my very favorite faux tulips. Last year on a trip to Magnolia Market I was swooning over the tulips Joanna had in mass all around the shop, however the price tag scared me, they were $4…EACH! SO I found a great source for some online if you want super realistic looking tulips at a fraction of the cost (see the supply list for a link)! I used wadded up paper as a “flower frog” and wrapped it around a little bundle of tulips. Remember to use an odd number! Odd numbers always are better on the eye in decorating. (I also did something similar in my daughter’s room.)
Shove your bouquet in your bucket/basket/base and mess with the tulips until they lay out pretty, varying height and direction. Surround them with Spanish moss to complete the look and hide your newspaper.
To hang my new white tulip wreath I used heavy duty super glue to attach a saw tooth wall hanger on the back. Now I can hang my new spring wreath on a door or wall…and even fill it with different decor for different seasons. So tell me, what would you use in your spring wreath? Here is a supply list with affiliate links in case you want to try the look!
